Upstream of the city of Gallarate, the flow of the Arno River is currently interrupted by lamination tanks in order to control polluted water from adjacent agricultural fields.

The project aims to restore the natural flow of the river and implement a control strip along the historic center, where water is purified of pollutants through NbS (Nature-based Solutions). Thus increasing the biodiversity of local flora and fauna, including aquatic, positively affecting the city microclimate and improving resilience to climate change.
